Cabot council adopts two ordinances, approves minutes and schedules follow-up on pending resolution

At its meeting, the Cabot City Council approved routine business and adopted two ordinances addressing prior items on the agenda.
The council voted to approve the Oct. 20, 2025 minutes by roll call, 7-0. On old business, members adopted Amended Ordinance No. 27 of 2025 on third reading by roll call vote, 7-0.
In new business the council considered Ordinance No. 32 of 2025, an ordinance “creating, certifying, and confirming tax liens against real properties at various locations within the city of Cabot for funds expended to pay for services rendered due to code violations.” The mayor moved to waive the second and third readings because of time constraints; the council agreed and later adopted Ordinance No. 32 on roll call, 7-0.
Committee reports included a Community Development summary from Candace Tumbali covering recent small grants, event sponsorships and local projects (including youth sports and a BMX track rebuild), and a Military Affairs update from Chair Matt Weber promoting the Cabot Lines Club Field of Honor at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Organizers reported about 200 flags on display with roughly 40 sponsors committed so far.
Council members also announced that the city completed a land sale for a college property, and that a check or wire for a little less than $5.7 million had been deposited for 19.11 acres; the council planned to take a photo with the check at the next opportunity.
A motion to adjourn carried at the end of the meeting.
