Newry Select Board nominates Gary Wight chair, approves minutes and appointments

The Town of Newry Select Board voted July 2 to nominate Gary Wight as chair for fiscal year 2025 and approved routine governance items including the June 18 meeting minutes and committee reappointments.
Selectman Virgil Conkright moved to approve the June 18, 2024 meeting minutes; Selectman Mandy Berry seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board then administered an oath to Mandy Berry for a three-year term as a Select Board member.
On the chair nomination, Selectman Virgil Conkright moved to nominate Selectman Gary Wight for Select Board chair; Selectman Mandy Berry seconded and the nomination was approved by unanimous vote. Later in the meeting Selectman Mandy Berry moved to accept and approve the committee reappointments and annual appointments for FY25; Selectman Conkright seconded and that motion also passed unanimously.
The meeting concluded with a motion by Selectman Mandy Berry to adjourn at 10:37 a.m.; Selectman Virgil Conkright seconded and the motion carried. The board set its next meeting for July 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Office.
