The Tremont Select Board elected Jamie Thurlow as chair and McKenzie Jewett as vice chair during its May 18 meeting at the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room. Kevin Buck nominated Thurlow for chair and Ben Harper seconded; the vote was recorded as 4 yes, 0 no, 1 abstention, with Thurlow abstaining. Ben Harper nominated McKenzie Jewett for vice chair and Thurlow seconded; the vote was recorded as 4 yes, 0 no, 1 abstention, with Jewett abstaining.
The leadership votes followed an attendance roll call that included Town Manager Jesse Dunbar, Town Clerk Sarah Abbott, Code Enforcement Officer Angela Chamberlain and Harbormaster Tyler Damon. Board members moved immediately to conduct the regular meeting under the newly confirmed leadership.
The board confirmed routine meeting business after the elections, including adoption of the agenda and approval of minutes and warrants. The board also set its next regular meeting for Monday, June 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Office.
