Resident Linda Jackson tells council she was not supported and raises persistent neighborhood dog problem

Resident Linda Jackson used the public-comment period to tell the Prescott City Council she had sought help from city officials two years earlier and had not received follow-up. Jackson said she felt the council and city attorney delayed action and that the lack of assistance had affected her daily life.

Jackson said she had asked for monetary help in the past and was told city leaders would wait to consult the lawyer before proceeding; she said she never heard back. "Two years ago I come to the city council asking for help... I feel y'all didn't support me," Jackson said. She described trouble with neighborhood dogs entering her yard and said the animals sometimes charged at her; she added the situation had affected her sleep.

Jackson referenced interactions she said occurred with law enforcement and the mayor’s office, naming Chief Ford and Chief Wiley Junior in her remarks and saying officials had suggested informal measures such as playing music to discourage dogs. She also described moving to a different bedroom during the worst episodes and said neighbors’ animals continued to be a problem.
