Jessica Marshall, identified in the meeting as the staff assistant for communications and a NCNW organizer, invited residents to a Juneteenth celebration on June 19 at McCray Park in Prescott.
Marshall said the event’s theme is "Today we will not be silent," named Senator Fred Love as the grand marshal and listed participants Payton Shaffer, Kobe Harper and Nikita Dunbar as speakers for the town hall portion. She encouraged residents to gather around 10:00–10:30 a.m. near the Pizza Hut for a parade route that proceeds to McCray Park, and said the celebration would include food vendors, games and participation from local churches.
Marshall said organizers planned the route to avoid crossing the highway to reduce the need for police closures. "We want to start the parade by I want everybody to gather about 10:00 or 10:30 by the time we get started going," she said.
The announcement closed with practical information about the time and a call for community participation; no permits or police confirmations were discussed on the record during the meeting.
