Planning commission elects 2026 chair and vice chair, reappoints ARC representative

The South Jordan Planning Commission on Jan. 13 elected Commissioner Gedge as its 2026 chair and Commissioner Farnsworth as vice chair and unanimously confirmed Commissioner Harding as the commission’s representative to the Architectural Review Committee.
The nominations were made during the meeting’s housekeeping portion. Chair (serving as 2025 chair during the nomination) said he was “open for others who wanna serve,” and commissioners nominated and voted without further opposition. Commissioner Harding accepted the ARC nomination when it was moved and seconded, and the commission recorded the appointment as passing 5–0.
The commission’s procedural items also included approval of the meeting agenda and the Dec. 9, 2025 minutes. The chair reviewed the year’s bylaws that define the duties of the chair and vice chair and encouraged commissioners to consider serving when opportunities arise.
With those organizational items completed, the commission turned to four administrative public hearings scheduled for the evening.
