Joan Orr, a meeting participant, told the Board of Selectmen she was concerned about the RSU #18 budget after meeting with the superintendent and shared information she had gathered. The board discussed the cost of tuition for students who attend RSU #18 and agreed to set a public hearing in May or early June to receive more testimony and data before taking further action.
First Selectman Kelsey Archer and other selectmen did not adopt a policy at the March 23 meeting; instead, the board directed staff to schedule the public hearing so the town can hear from officials, parents and other stakeholders. The board did not specify an exact date at the meeting.
The matter will return to the Select Board for consideration after the hearing. No formal motion or vote on any RSU policy was recorded at the March 23 meeting.
