The Beekmantown Town Board on April 20 approved a series of financial adjustments and operational actions, including awarding a fire-detection contract and hiring two positions following an executive session.
The board approved several fund resolutions during the supervisor report: Resolution 91-26 adjusted the General Fund by Minus $80,327.04 leaving a balance of $2,140,505.00; Resolution 92-26 adjusted Highway Funds by Minus $91,355.04 leaving a balance of $1,129,892.22; and Resolution 93-26 adjusted the Water Improvement account by Minus $29,750.47 leaving a balance of $172,751.07. Additional sanitation-related fund adjustments included Resolution 94-26 (SWO1, Minus $3,398.41; balance $73,917.52) and Resolution 95-26 (SW02, Minus $25,859.60; balance $27,528.77). Each of these motions was moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and the transcript shows the roll-call votes recorded as passing 5-0.
Under ongoing business the board selected Calogne to install a fire-detection system at the Highway Department (Resolution 96-26). Mr. Menard moved the motion and Mrs. Turner seconded; the transcript records the roll call as unanimous in favor.
The board also accepted an updated Shared Services Agreement provided by NYMIR (Resolution 97-26), replacing the previously adopted agreement. Mrs. Turner moved the motion and Mr. Deyo seconded; the transcript records a unanimous roll-call vote in favor.
The board approved the auditing of claims and signing of warrants under Resolution 98-26; the motion was moved by Mr. Deyo and seconded by Mrs. Turner and recorded as passing unanimously.
After an executive session called to discuss pending litigation, a land sale and payroll clerk applications, the board approved two personnel items. The board passed Resolution 99-26 to hire Mrs. Zorn (Racette) as payroll clerk at $25.50 per hour with a six-month probationary period. The motion was moved by Mrs. Turner, seconded by Mr. Sand, and the transcript records the resolution as passing on a recorded roll call. The board also approved Resolution 100-26 to hire Bill Turner to mow town lawns for the 2026 summer at $20 per hour; the minutes record the resolution as passing "4-0." The transcript does not explicitly reconcile that 4-0 tally with the earlier roll-call list showing five members present.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn at 8:52 p.m. and the minutes were signed by Tammy Menard, Town Clerk.
Notes on votes and records: where the transcript records a roll-call tally (for example, 5-0) those counts are recorded above. For Resolution 100-26 the minutes show "Resolution passes: 4-0" while the roll-call lines in the transcript list the same five board members; the record does not specify which member, if any, was absent or abstained for that vote.
