Michelle Walter of Baker Tilly US, LLP presented the results of the firm’s audit of the City of Brookfield’s 2025 annual comprehensive financial report at the June 16 Finance Committee meeting.
Walter said Baker Tilly issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements, identified no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in internal control, and highlighted favorable financial trends in comparison to Baker Tilly client medians for similar-sized municipalities. She also said the audit team received full cooperation from management and had no observations regarding internal control or procedural improvements.
The presentation was informational and required no committee action. A financial highlights document was made available for review in the Finance Department offices, according to the meeting record.
Committee members did not move any action on the audit during the meeting. The presentation provides the committee with completed audit findings and supports the City’s ongoing financial reporting.
