Board asks DOT to ease bridge closures; seasonal parking and playground repairs noted

Chairman Chuck Rage told the board he had sent a letter to the state Department of Transportation asking that scheduled temporary two-way bridge closures allow longer openings in the morning and reverse the pattern after 3:00 p.m. "I requested they open for longer periods in the morning and reverse the process after 3:00 p.m.," he said, and recommended marketing note that visitors should take exit 1 or 2 to reach Hampton Beach during closures.
Rage also announced seasonal parking availability on the corner of Brown Avenue and provided a contact number for anyone interested in a spot.
During public comment, Richard Reniere asked about impacts to piping plovers from the planned fireworks; Chairman Rage said he believed the birds "have been asked to move on" and that he had contacted Concord and Fish & Game. The board also reported that ten playground items had been repaired and that the Beautification Committee removed storm-deposited sand from public areas; new flags have been installed and Wayne Duby maintains lights at the playground.
No formal action was taken on traffic routing, parking or wildlife policy during the meeting; items were presented as updates and staff/board follow-up.
