The Hampton Beach Village District voted unanimously to raise its insurance budget after the district’s insurance contact recommended higher limits and premium coverage. "I contacted Dean Merrill who does the District’s insurance who recommended an increase in insurance," Chairman Chuck Rage said, noting changes in Concord and Washington that could increase liability exposure.
Commissioner Robert Ladd moved to increase the insurance budget to $3,122 to pay for the increase in the cost of premiums for general liability and excess limits coverage. The motion passed with a 3–0 vote, recorded by the board as unanimous.
The board also approved two sets of minutes during the meeting. Commissioner Ladd moved, and Commissioner Maureen Buckley seconded, approval of the April 8, 2026 minutes (vote 3–0). Ladd then moved to approve the May 13, 2026 minutes, seconded by Chairman Rage; that motion passed 2–0 with Commissioner Buckley recorded as abstaining.
