The Santa Cruz Valley Union High School District Governing Board accepted the 2024 audits (issued Jan. 30, 2025) for the fiscal year ending 2024 after a teleconference presentation by Dennis Maschke of CWDL. Mr. Maschke presented the audit findings and the board voted unanimously to accept the audits.
Business Manager Elizabeth Ibarra submitted the district’s monthly financial report and the February expense report. Ibarra said the district's risk analysis looked positive; she noted there were findings but that the district has changed internal controls and corrected minor issues. Board member Billy Brown asked to review repeat findings to pursue additional corrections, and Ibarra agreed.
The board also ratified the February payroll and expense vouchers. Documents in the minutes list payroll entries (#22–#24 and #2526–#2527) totaling $256,595.34, expense vouchers totaling $309,079.71, and a grand total of $565,675.05. The board approved routine consent items and minutes from the meetings of Jan. 8 and Feb. 12, 2025.
The audit acceptance and fiscal ratifications were approved by unanimous roll call. Dennis Maschke participated by teleconference and fielded questions during the audit presentation.
