Committee to draft letter on rooftop heat‑pump retrofit for Willington library

"Now that we've gotten a reasonable estimate for what it would take to convert the library to heat pumps on the roof for both heating and cooling, I think that we might be able to extrapolate that to a generalized cost for all of our town buildings," the Committee Chair said. The chair said they would draft a revision of a letter and expects to present it to the board of selectmen within a month or two and before the planned Sept. 30 community event.
The committee did not provide a dollar figure in the meeting; members described the cost as an estimate to be refined. The chair tasked a committee member to prepare the letter and bring it back for committee review prior to delivering it to the board of selectmen or tying it to the Sept. 30 outreach event.
Next steps: committee staff will prepare the draft letter, circulate it to members for edits, and schedule presentation to the board of selectmen once complete.
