Design Review Board reviews Chapter 31 updates, handbook revisions and next steps for recruitment

Planning Director Michele Gagnon said a draft of the Chapter 31 addition has been composed and that planning staff are coordinating with the Town Manager to ensure consistency across ordinance sections. Sassaman noted that if the proposed Article XIII amendment appears on the June 2026 ballot and passes, language about Board composition and quorum requirements would be missing from the ordinance unless included in the new Chapter 31 section.
Sassaman also asked about an updated Findings of Deliberation checklist; Emily Sprecher confirmed the checklist was updated when public comments were originally received. Planning staff said the Design Review Handbook will also need revision to match any new Article XIII section and that printed copies of the current handbook will be provided to Board members for review.
The Board thanked member Andrea Lepcio for her contributions at her final meeting due to an upcoming move. Members discussed open seats and recruitment ideas; Bo Jennings suggested using the Town's Facebook page for outreach, and Planning Director Gagnon said planning staff will coordinate with the Town Clerk to advertise openings.
There were no additional board member comments, and Vice-chair Sassaman moved to adjourn at 4:43 PM; Lepcio seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
