Sheriff Langley attended the meeting and described the county’s intention to provide law-enforcement services, add deputies and handle city calls, ordinance and parking enforcement. The council noted the prior contract dated from 2001 and directed the agreement be edited to remove paragraph four and returned for signature.
Council Members Tom Moulton, Chris Mahalek and Larry Casper voted in favor of the motion to sign the resolution contingent on the removal; the motion carried on a roll call vote. The edited agreement must be brought back to the council for formal signature.
