Hoesch Memorial Public Library Director Jennifer Roethke asked the Alma City Council on Oct. 15 to approve two part-time hires: a clerk expected to work about 9–12 hours on a schedule to be determined and a cleaning position expected to work about two hours every two weeks. The council approved both hires on a motion by Council Member Larry Casper, seconded by Joel Wheeler.
Roethke told the council the library board had approved both hires. The minutes record no opposition and no further conditions attached to the approvals. The hires will be processed through the library and city personnel procedures.
