Alvo trustees approve claims, note QuickBooks error and delinquent NDOL filing

At its July 8 meeting, the Village of Alvo Board of Trustees voted to approve payment of claims, wages, taxes and transfers as listed in the treasurer report. Trustee Larry Langer moved and Vice Chairperson Gary Estes seconded the motion; the minutes record the vote as Yes-3, No-0, Absent-1.
The treasurer report included a notation correcting an earlier minutes item: a QuickBooks Online available-funds error caused an overdraw on the Water/Sewer Account from June 17 through June 30, 2025. The minutes correct a prior line that had identified the Roads Account; the Water/Sewer Account is identified as the affected account in this meeting's record.
Interim Clerk/Treasurer Cathina Schueth reported several administrative items: a delinquent 2025 first-quarter combined tax and wage filing with the Nebraska Department of Labor that still has fees due and may require coordination to determine whether former employee Mike Lanctot's personal information is required to complete the forms; an unresolved issue with Vonage phone service for which the village has not yet received a response; and receipt of a reimbursement check from Intuit for QuickBooks Online.
The minutes list individual payments including payroll checks to board members and staff, utility payments (Omaha Public Power District), a water sample fee to the Nebraska Public Health Lab, bank overdraft fees, and automatic tax payments (federal and state forms). Two totals are shown in the minutes: $3,738.21 and $3,715.12. The board recorded the payment approval as a formal action in the minutes.
