Planning commission adopts 2026 calendar, approves minutes and re-elects chair and vice chair

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Navajo County Planning and Zoning Commission approved routine business items including the minutes from the Oct. 16, 2025 meeting and the 2026 Planning & Zoning calendar, which staff said will continue meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
A motion to approve the Oct. 16 minutes was made and seconded; commissioners voted in favor by voice and the motion passed. Commissioners then discussed the 2026 calendar; a motion to adopt the calendar as presented was made, seconded and approved on voice vote.
During officer elections for 2026, a motion was made to re‑elect Commissioner Mudder as chair; the motion passed. Vice Chair Smith was then nominated and elected to remain vice chair after a separate vote.
In a staff report, Cody said there are presently no items scheduled for the January commission meeting and that several applications are under review but not yet ready for public hearing. The chair adjourned the meeting after holiday remarks from commissioners.
