Council approves contracts, appointments and a $1 parking-fee increase

The council also approved equipment quotes for public works (plow cutting edges and repair parts), a series of FY2026 carry-forwards and line-item transfers to fund projects and one-time startup costs (including new WIMS software), and the renaming of a private way from Linda's Way to Silver Brook Drive. A motion to increase parking fees at pay stations, meters and pay-by-app to $5 (up from $4) passed 5-0.
The council appointed Kylie Duffy as an alternate member to the Planning Board (term to 12/31/2027) and approved other routine licenses and short-term rental requests; one councilor abstained on a license vote due to a conflict, recorded as 4-0-1 on that item.
Votes were generally unanimous and brief; staff told council that eight proposals were received for the ambulance-billing RFP and Comstar offered the lowest fee. "Comstar... offering the lowest fee of 4% of the net revenue," staff said when presenting the recommendation.
What happens next: staff will execute contracts and administer the agreements; parking-rate changes will take effect at the start of the next parking season per ordinance update and fee schedule procedures.
