The Navajo County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a proclamation Sept. 9 designating September 2025 as National Preparedness Month in the county.
Katrina read the proclamation to the board, outlining the 2025 theme — “a lasting legacy, the life you’ve built is worth protecting” — and urging residents to prepare emergency plans, register for alerts and assemble emergency kits with food, water and first-aid supplies.
Katrina described preparedness as a shared responsibility and encouraged community engagement and outreach. “The 2025 theme, a lasting legacy, the life you’ve built is worth protecting,” she said.
Supervisors thanked Katrina and public-health staff for outreach work in communities, including recent engagement in Timberland Acres. Supervisor Weitzinger moved for approval and another supervisor seconded; the board approved the proclamation by voice vote.
The proclamation calls on residents to review emergency plans and sign up for local alert systems.
