The Ainsworth City Council unanimously approved several routine permits and LB840 loan-committee recommendations during its regular meeting.
The council granted a special designated liquor license to Elks Lodge No. 1790 for the Ainsworth Booster Club fundraiser at the Ainsworth Conference Center on Aug. 15–16, 2025. No concerns were reported by staff and the motion carried on roll call.
On LB840 items, the council approved a $10,000 facade application (25-02); a business loan of $23,853.17 at 4% amortized over five years (25-03); and a $3,400 facade grant (25-04) with a $100 application fee waived because the applicant is a nonprofit. Each recommendation was moved, seconded and passed by unanimous roll calls.
Council members noted facades can help improve property values and downtown appeal, and staff reminded the council that other park and recreation grants and budget items will be discussed during the next budget cycle.
No further action was taken on these items beyond the approvals recorded in the meeting minutes.
