Council members had no objections to continuing the three-cents-per-$100 rate that the rural fire board has approved in recent cycles. The motion to renew passed on a roll call with recorded yes votes from Brad, Kent and Dustin.
The decision keeps the funding arrangement in place; staff said the city will sign the renewed agreement and take it to the rural fire board for their meeting later in the evening.
The council did not amend the agreement’s payment formula and did not set any additional conditions. The item will return to the agenda only if the rural fire board proposes a change or if staff identify a need for a future amendment.
