Ainsworth adopts ordinance changing elected officials’ pay; certifies street superintendent

The Ainsworth City Council adopted Ordinance 1562 on its third and final reading, amending salaries for certain elected officials. Members noted the mayor’s pay increase will not take effect until the start of the next mayoral term (Jan. 1, 2027) while councilmember increases (where applicable) take effect with the incoming council term.
Council also approved Resolution 24‑8 certifying Lloyd as street superintendent, which allows the city to accept a state incentive payment (about $3,000 annually) and apply that payment toward superintendent duties such as required reporting and preparation of required documents. Council discussed doing official appointments during the next month’s reorganization process.
Both actions passed unanimously by roll call vote.
Next steps: Reappointments/official appointments will be considered at the December reorganization meeting; staff will process the certification paperwork for the street superintendent incentive payment.
