The Ainsworth City Council adopted the 2024–25 municipal budget by approving Ordinance No. 1561 and then set the city’s 2024–25 tax request with Resolution 24-6.
Councilors clarified a numbering typo in meeting materials but confirmed the ordinance content before voting. The council also voted to increase total restricted-fund authority by 1% to create additional one-time capacity for emergency response and to incrementally build authority over time. A councilor explained the 1% measure as a precaution that has rarely been used historically and noted that it helps the city react quickly to catastrophes without amending the budget immediately.
All three measures passed by voice/roll call votes with every member present concurring.
Next steps: staff will incorporate the approved budget and tax request into fiscal-year processes and provide the restricted-fund schedule details to council members on request.
