Resident appeals building permit, asks Board of Appeals to review

Jordan Fountain, a resident who raised a public comment at the Aug. 20 Selectpersons meeting, said she has filed a formal appeal with the Board of Appeals over a building permit she says was wrongly issued. Fountain told the board the original permit was issued by former CEO Don Baker and reissued by current CEO Kevin Brodie, and she alleged multiple errors: wrong map and lot numbers, no septic design on file, an address that does not exist in town records, abutting owners not notified despite her request, and that no site visit was conducted before the permit(s) were issued. Fountain’s attorney attended and filed the appeal with the Board of Appeals.
At the meeting Clerk Cheryl Robinson said she will advise the Board of Appeals that the appeal has been filed and will arrange a hearing date. No formal response from the CEO about the allegations is recorded in the minutes. The record shows the board took no immediate enforcement action at the meeting; the matter will proceed through the Board of Appeals process.
