The Natomas Charter School Board approved three governance items on June 15: an annual resolution certifying authorized signatures and two policy adoptions.
Resolution 06.15.2026.01 (verification of signatures) was moved and seconded and approved by roll call; trustees voted 'yes' to authorize designated administrators and board officers to sign county and administrative filings and to designate custodians of records. Anita noted she will remain in her role through September 18 to facilitate the transition to the incoming budget director, Cindy Tal.
On policy matters the board completed second readings and adopted Board Policy 3514.1 (hazardous-waste). Staff noted the policy aligns with Natomas Unified policy and includes an appendix (chemical-hygiene plan) prepared by science teacher Miss Garcia to ensure employees can access required procedures and training.
The board also adopted Board Policy 5145.1 (campus search and seizure) after a second reading that added clarification on steps to take if a student refuses to comply with a search directive.
Each item passed on roll-call votes recorded in the meeting minutes. There was no public opposition or substantive debate recorded on these items.
What’s next: staff will collect board members’ signatures on the resolution documents for county filing and finalize policy postings and employee access to required materials.
