The Bradford Selectboard on March 16 awarded the roadside mowing contract to Municipal Mowing, LLC for $2,451 after opening four bids.
Bids received were Municipal Mowing, LLC ($2,451), E & E Powerlines ($2,577.80), Kyle Pedersen ($2,800) and Vance Lambert ($3,000). Boardmember Carlene Oakes moved to award the contract to Municipal Mowing, LLC and Boardmember Timothy Bubar seconded. The motion passed on a 3-2 roll call with Boardmembers Bubar and Randy Margraf voting no.
After the vote, Boardmembers discussed whether Boardmember Terrie Allen should have participated in the vote because of a personal issue involving one of the contractors. The Manager said she would contact MMA Legal for guidance on voting eligibility and any requisite recusal procedures.
The award is effective immediately; the Manager will follow up with contract paperwork and legal guidance if MMA advises any corrective steps.
