Selectboard approves abatements, warrants and creates reserve for 2031 Bicentennial

At its Feb. 16 meeting the Bradford Selectboard approved a set of financial items including tax abatements and supplemental accounts, approved payroll and accounts‑payable warrants, and voted to convert a savings article into a reserve for the town’s 2031 Bicentennial Celebration.
The board approved Abatement List #6 and Supplemental List #5 on a motion by Boardmember Randy Margraf with a second from Boardmember Carlene Oakes. Abatements recorded in the minutes included Derek & Amber Hines (Acct. #273) for $240.39 listed as the wrong owner, and George D’Astous (Acct. #1041) for $585.37 noted as a duplicate account. Supplements included David Sokoloski (Acct. #1112) $240.39 (new account) and Daniel Hurd & Richard Hurd (Acct. #273) $240.39 to correct ownership.
On warrants, Boardmember Edward Nevells moved and Boardmember Terrie Allen seconded approval of payroll warrants #7 and #8; the minutes record four votes in favor with Boardmember Oakes abstaining. Accounts payable warrants #9 and #10 were approved on a motion by Boardmember Oakes and second by Boardmember Allen; the board voted unanimously to approve those warrants.
During review of the town warrant the board discussed reallocations and reserve funding. Boardmember Oakes moved and Boardmember Nevells seconded a motion to convert Article 29 (Bradford Days Savings) into a newly created reserve for the Bradford Bicentennial Celebration in 2031; the motion passed unanimously. The board also discussed moving funds from the Town Truck Reserve to the Middle Branch Bridge Reserve and noted no further major changes to warrant articles in the minutes.
What’s next: Implementation tasks (account entries, reserve reclassification, and any deed or record updates) will occur through town accounting processes; the minutes do not specify a date for completing those entries.
