Residents report winter sand and salt limits and Station Road hazard; Planning Board to review solar ordinance and fire station update given
Summary
Residents told the board sand deliveries were limited and state salt shortages exist, and raised a worsening drop on Station Road; the Planning Board will review Solar Farm Ordinance edits Feb. 9, and officials said about $27,000 will be returned to the town on a corrected fire-station pay request.

During the meeting’s open session, resident Erik Hanson told the board the town "put in only 500 yards of sand" and ordered two loads of salt, adding that "there is a shortage of salt in the state" but that supplies "should be enough" to carry the remainder of winter. The board recorded the comment for information and did not announce further action beyond monitoring supplies.
Resident Jim Poehmel raised a road-safety concern: "the drop from pavement to gravel on Station Road is getting deeper." The board said the condition will be reviewed for repair once winter conditions permit.
In committee reports the Planning Board said it was comfortable with attorney-proposed changes to the Solar Farm Ordinance and will meet Feb. 9 for a review prior to a public hearing. On the future fire station, officials said earlier pay-request issues are being corrected and approximately $27,000 will be returned to the town; an open house is planned for late April.
Boardmember Edward Nevells also noted the town office has a new Facebook page and said he would post a reference on his Selectboard page to direct residents to it. The board agreed to keep its regular meetings on the first and third Mondays, except for major holidays such as July 4 and Christmas.
