Gravette School District presented preliminary assessment results showing district‑wide gains in reading, math and science at its June board meeting. District materials reported ELA performance for grades 3–10 rose from 43% to 46% at or above grade level; math moved from 47% to 54%; and science increased from 48% to 50%. Kindergarten ELA increased from 66% to 89% and kindergarten math from 52% to 70%.
District presenters placed the gains in context, saying the improvements were the product of targeted curriculum changes, increased teacher collaboration time and faster interim data reporting that allowed teachers to adjust instruction midyear. Presenters highlighted large regional ranking improvements for several grade bands and said hard numbers would be finalized in July when state reports are completed.
Board members and staff noted the gains will factor into school‑grade calculations and district communications ahead of the new school year. Administrators said they plan a public summary of the results and a district promotional video to showcase the improvements at the upcoming District Day.
The results discussed at the meeting are preliminary; district presenters said final state‑validated scores expected in July will determine official school grades. The board did not take any formal policy action on assessments during the meeting.
