The Nova Charter School Board of Directors voted unanimously on June 17 to approve the "2627" budget and to adopt the "2627" Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) as part of the 2024–27 LCAP framework, board records show.
The board approved the evening's agenda and then moved on to action items. After a motion and second, the board adopted the 2627 budget by roll-call vote; members who recorded affirmative votes included Justin, Sean, Arino, Pretina, Jennifer, Gina and Maria. The board then voted to approve the 2627 local control and accountability plan; that motion also passed on a roll-call vote.
Executive Director Dr. Wood offered brief comments after the votes, thanking attendees and saying, "Nice to approve the budget." No public comments were recorded for items on or off the agenda; the board noted there were no commenters in the room or online during the designated public-comment periods.
During board member remarks, several members asked that the board revisit a previously discussed survey at the August meeting. One board member requested that fresh baked cookies be provided for that future meeting; that request was noted but not tied to any formal agenda change.
The meeting opened with roll call in which Dr. Gaffne and Miss Kushall were noted as not attending. The board signaled no additional items at the close of the session and moved toward adjournment; a date for the August meeting will govern when the survey discussion returns to the agenda.
Minutes and official records should be consulted for the full vote tallies and any written materials tied to the budget and LCAP approvals.
