West Bend extends solid‑waste contract with GFL for five years

The Board of Public Works and the Council approved a five‑year extension with Green for Life (GFL) to provide curbside recycling and solid waste disposal services for West Bend, staff said on June 15. Public Works presenter Doug said the city has had a long partnership with GFL and reported no performance issues, recommending approval of the extension under the proposed addendum.
The existing contract’s initial five‑year term ends Dec. 31 of this year; the current arrangement had originally been established following a 2021 RFP that selected a five‑year term with a five‑year option. With the extension approved, staff will proceed with executing the addendum and continuing operations under the current provider.
Council members had no questions at the meeting and approved the measure by voice vote.
