At the June 16 meeting the Church Hill Planning Commission voted to continue the public hearing for zoning case 26-35 (8 Buggy Whip Drive) to its Sept. 15, 2026 meeting at the applicant’s request so the applicant may reevaluate potential uses of the parcel.
Planning technician Benjamin Johnson said staff and the applicant had met in early June and the applicant requested the continuance to develop other options. The commission moved to continue the hearing and carried the motion.
Earlier in the meeting the commission approved a one-year extension for zoning case 24-018 covering four Storm Hill parcels (parcels 1–4). Staff told commissioners the applicant has worked with an engineering team to vacate and realign easements and finalize trail dedications; the remaining step is for engineers to finalize documents and record them with the county before the project can advance to permitting.
The commission’s continuation of the Buggy Whip item and the extension for the Storm Hill parcels were both approved by motion and voice/roll-call votes, with the commission noting the next opportunity to consider Buggy Whip Drive will be Sept. 15, 2026.
