Historic commission approves three residential solar projects in Dennis

Tammy, a solar representative for Boundless Inc., appeared for the applicant on 16 Piccadilly and said the project — recorded on the agenda as 16 — was the company’s residential installation; she noted installers on several nearby projects are Freedom Forever. The commission determined the property is in an exempt area and moved to approve the application; the motion passed without opposition.
For 1012 Route 134, Bruce of Trinity Solar checked into the hearing remotely and described a rear-mounted solar array for the homeowner identified in the filing as Michael Monnick. The commission again noted the parcel was in an exempt area and approved the installation.
At 6 Open Field Road (listed as Edward Mokler’s project on the agenda), representative Vadim Rudichuk asked whether roof work discussed by the homeowner would require separate historic review; the chair limited comment to the posted solar item. Commissioners clarified whether panels would be on the front, rear or both; the applicant said panels were proposed for both rear and front. Commissioner (S3) moved approval and the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioners treated each solar application as exempt or compliant with the commission’s rules for the district. Approvals allow applicants to proceed to the building-permit stage; the chair reiterated that changes to approved plans require written permission from the commission.
