Van Buren supervisors approve appointments, hire and routine payroll and claims

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors on July 8 made several administrative approvals, including appointments, a hire and routine financial approvals.
On motion by Meek, seconded by Richards, the board appointed Sam Wenke of Bonaparte to a three-year term on the Van Buren County Veterans' Affairs Commission ending June 30, 2027. On motion by Richards, seconded by Meek, and upon recommendation of the local health nurse administrator, the board appointed Samantha Osborne of Keosauqua as full-time office manager effective Aug. 1, 2024, at a salary of $21.00 per hour; both motions passed with three ayes.
The board approved payroll (#43162-43245), claims (#1958-1978 and #1979-2058; Secondary Roads #30143-30164 and #30165-30175), and the Auditor’s Statement of Fees for the fourth quarter of FY2024. The board acknowledged receipt of a one-year Manure Management Plan update for facility #66059 (Steve Robinson).
