Council members asked for clarity about where accessory dwelling units would be allowed and were directed to submit specific questions to the ORC for the committees meeting before the second reading.
The mayor said the ORC would "tune it up with the most current legislation" and bring recommended edits back before the second reading. With those planned refinements, the council voted in favor of the first reading to bring Hallowells land-use code into compliance with the state requirement.
