The Owen County Plan Commission voted unanimously to approve the Woods Minor Subdivision final plat, concluding that the applicant had satisfied the items requested following preliminary approval.
Staff told the commission the applicant submitted corrected survey language, an increased driveway width and a 44-page drainage report that had been reviewed previously. The commission noted the final plat did not materially deviate from the approved preliminary plat and cited applicable provisions of the Owen County Zoning Subdivision Control Ordinance and Indiana Code governing final-plat approval.
Commission members discussed the drainage study results during the meeting and said the report showed a substantial decrease in post-development water egress from the property, which they characterized as beneficial to downstream neighbors. Health-department clearance related to septic systems was noted as provided through the county health department.
With no public comments opposing the plat, a commissioner moved to approve, another seconded, and the commission carried the motion by voice and hand vote; the clerk recorded the vote as unanimous.
The commission's approval is conditioned on the final plat as presented and the documentation on file; staff will retain the drainage and survey records as part of the project file.
