ADOT superintendent: inmate crews and roadside signs limited by funding; Tonto Basin road complaints continue

Callaco said funds and crew assignments are limited: inmate crews are currently working on Highway 77 and it may take time before a crew can be assigned to the Roosevelt area. He said he would look into erecting 'No Littering' signs but cautioned that funding limits may delay installation.
Residents also raised longstanding complaints about the condition of Tonto Basin Road. Callaco acknowledged awareness of the issues and said ADOT would continue to work on them, without promising an immediate timetable.
