The Red Rock Elementary School District No. 5 board on Nov. 20 authorized the superintendent to review and make final decisions on all school fundraisers.
The action was moved by Luis Vargas and seconded by Kayti Kahn and was recorded as approved 2-0. The minutes state that all fundraisers approved by the superintendent will be noted in the Superintendent’s Report.
Board members did not record any conditions or dollar limits in the minutes. The decision centralizes fundraiser approvals at the superintendent’s office; the minutes say a future presentation on document-management systems (Board Doc and Board Book) will be provided to the board and that examples are attached to the minutes.
Because the minutes do not include direct quotes or specify any procedural changes to existing policy language, the superintendent’s forthcoming reports to the board will provide the public record of what fundraisers are approved and any fiscal impacts. The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
