County outlines demolition timeline for buy-out homes; Dumpster Day set Oct. 12

"I will be on hand with my truck and trailer to haul tires and metal," Humphrey said, noting the county is trying to hire local contractors when possible. A resident named Lisa said she would contact a local scrap-metal contact to see if they could attend Dumpster Day.
The meeting also confirmed a community Dumpster Day on Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Roosevelt Baptist Church parking lot. The event is intended to provide a place for residents to dispose of tires, metal and other bulky items ahead of demolition work and neighborhood cleanups. Humphrey and staff emphasized coordination with contractors and public outreach ahead of any demolition work to inform affected homeowners and neighbors.
No formal votes or ordinance actions were taken; staff said more logistical details and contractor contacts will be shared at upcoming walkthroughs and through follow-up notices.
