Plats: The commission recommended approval of the Olinger plat (consolidation to preserve agricultural status) and a Miiller & King plat to split a homestead from farm ground; both are in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction and the minutes state the city has approved them. The commission also recommended approval of a JTZ Properties plat dividing Singapore Slab Tract 1 into two lots; the minutes note Lot 1 is planned for a gas station and Lot 2 for a 64‑unit senior living center. Commissioner Steve Thiesse abstained from the JTZ Properties vote; other members recorded aye votes and the recommendation will go to the County Commissioners.
Boarding stable and fencing staging: Tanner and Kim Cross requested a conditional‑use permit for a boarding stable and short‑term staging for a fencing business in the Agricultural District. Tanner Cross said he plans an initial configuration of about 16 stalls, will require proof of vaccinations for boarded horses, and anticipates some semitrailer deliveries for fencing materials; the property would use rural water and the stable would have its own entrance. The commission voted to recommend approval to the Board of Adjustment.
Van Buskirk Trust Plat: The commission recommended approval of a plat separating a hunting lodge from surrounding farmland to facilitate a loan; the applicant was not present but contacted county staff and indicated the plat was needed to secure financing.
Administrative: The commission set its next meeting for June 3, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 8:35 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Steve Thiesse, seconded by Mike Blaalid. The minutes record signatures for Chairperson Bruce Haines and Deputy Director Karen Wegleitner.
All recommendations and plats will be forwarded to the County Commissioners or Board of Adjustment for final action per normal county procedures.
