Council welcomes new officer Antonio Espinosa to Quartzsite Police Department

Chief Clay Romo introduced new officer Antonio Espinosa to the Council and said Espinosa graduated the police academy on December 12 and will continue through a four-phase field-training program.
"He graduated the police academy December 12. He's currently going through a 4 phase, field training program," Romo said, noting that Espinosa is progressing through phase one and is doing well.
Officer Espinosa introduced himself and described his background, including four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and work as a diesel mechanic before joining the department. "I am a 110% glad that I executed it, and I thank them so much," Espinosa said of his decision to join law enforcement.
Council members and attendees welcomed Espinosa and praised his academy performance; according to the transcript, he was chosen to speak at commencement and was voted best cadet. The council offered a formal welcome and no council action was required for the presentation.
