Holden manager asks for consolidation minutes additions; resident rebukes prior board remarks

Ben Breadmore, manager for the Town of Holden, told the RSU 63 board at its Feb. 24 meeting that the February 8 Consolidation Committee meeting included additional information not reflected in the committee minutes and asked that language he provided be added to the record. The request was recorded in the meeting minutes but the board did not take a separate vote on changes to the committee minutes during this session.
Shortly afterward, Matthew Campbell, identified in the minutes as a resident of Holden, rebutted comments from January’s board meeting. According to the minutes, Campbell said he is opposed to legalization of marijuana, has consulted an attorney regarding options, and alleged that a current board member has a criminal history. The minutes show a back‑and‑forth among participants about what is chosen to be included in the minutes; the record does not identify the board member Campbell referenced, nor does it record a formal response or follow-up action by the board.
School consolidation was also discussed in old business: Superintendent Jared Fulgoni reported that a walkthrough of Holden Elementary School was well attended and thanked Jeff Thurlow of Carpenter Associates for answering questions. The minutes reference the Consolidation Committee meeting of Feb. 8 in the public comment and the later walkthrough noted under old business.
The board set additional committee and workshop dates for March and did not take further action on the requested changes to Consolidation Committee minutes during this meeting.
