Baldwin prints comprehensive plan; board flags shoreland-zoning follow-up

The Baldwin Planning Board said the towncomprehensive plan was adopted at the annual town meeting and that the selectmen approved printing 20 bound copies for planning board members.
Planner Matt told the board the plan is advisory, not a zoning ordinance, but that future land-use regulations should align with the plan. He said the plan includes goals, strategies and suggested responsible parties for tactics and that he will present those sections to the board to aid implementation.
Separately, the board flagged a shoreland-zoning ordinance update that "got dropped through the cracks" during a handoff between staff. Members said they had seen a copy of a map and the proposed changes to protected resource areas but asked for a fuller review and a discussion with the staff member who prepared the map to ensure the board understands and can act on the proposal.
