The Fairfax County Community Services Board recognized Timothy Gosart and a cross-functional analytics and informatics team with the Spirit of Excellence Innovation Award for leading a complex transition of CSB clinical reporting into an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
Raymond Peyton, one of the ceremony emcees, read the nomination highlighting the technical and operational outcomes: the team rebuilt 31 CCS forms, completed extensive testing and validation, replaced manual monthly file transfers with automated reporting every two hours, and "more than 150,000 messages were successfully transmitted in the first month with less than 1% error rate." The nomination credited the work with improving data quality, reducing manual effort, and strengthening audit readiness across CSB programs.
Presenters said the project required coordination across 39 community services boards, multiple EHR vendors and state reporting requirements. The nomination described measurable outcomes during go-live monitoring and low error rates as evidence the EDW transition protected clinical continuity while enabling faster, automated reporting for operations and oversight.
No details were provided in the ceremony about ongoing costs, specific vendor names, or contract amendments. CSB communications or the analytics team would be the source for follow-up questions about ongoing monitoring, maintenance responsibilities, and whether similar transitions are planned for additional program reporting.
Raymond Peyton read that the effort "replaced labor-intensive monthly manual file transfers with automated reporting every two hours, greatly improving efficiency, timeliness and data quality." Attendees cited the transition as an example of how internal modernization work can support faster service delivery and better data for clinical teams.
