Student Senate previews homecoming, wellness campaigns and guest speaker

Cooper and Sawyer, the high school student representatives, told the RSU 38 school board the Student Senate is planning Make-a-Difference week and has confirmed Craig Hickman as a guest speaker. They said the Wellness committee is coordinating a suicide-prevention campaign and working with the health center to make winter clothing more accessible.
The students described homecoming plans for the week of Oct. 4 with a pep rally and a dance on Saturday, Oct. 12, and said themes for spirit days will include decade themes and the overall theme “Fire and Ice.” They also outlined a club fair on Oct. 18 and ongoing work to get a lobby display running to share school event information.
The presentation was brief and largely informational; board members responded with encouragement for student participation and attendance at upcoming events. The board did not take formal action on the student report.
