Kennebunk CAC plans May Day activities, quarterly flyer and to use remaining $2,000 before July

Lisa Pagano agreed to draft a quarterly printed flyer for distribution to town offices and the library and to post it on the town page; she will send the draft to Lee Jay and Lisa Pratt for review. The flyer should note that the committee received a Kennebunk Action Grant from the Office of Community Affairs for solar installations at the COS and Waterhouse Center, and the committee intends to include a link to the reformatted greenhouse gas inventory produced by Karina.
For May Day (May 2, set-up at 9 a.m., event 10 a.m.–1 p.m.), the committee decided to purchase one rain barrel for a children’s craft; Mike McAtamney will prepare taped guides for the project and Lisa Pratt will ask town staff whether the finished piece may be placed in the town-hall garden. The committee noted that a geocaching scavenger hunt was not feasible because of lack of cell service.
On budget, Lisa Pratt said the committee has $2,000 available to spend through June 30 and that after July 1, expenditures must be itemized; Tom Wellman asked whether the funds could remain flexible if an unexpected need arises. Committee members also noted an EES “garbage to garden” pilot that would launch at three locations if 80% neighborhood buy-in is achieved and that EES will offer a new composting workshop if the pilot proceeds.
The minutes record these outreach and budget decisions as planning actions; no formal vote was recorded on expenditures during the meeting minutes.
