Oak Park staff told the planning commission on June 15 that two administrative approvals had been issued: an outdoor dining area for Das Villo at 13631 West 11 Mile Road and an RV-style shelter for Forgotten Harvest at 1500 West 8 Mile Road.
Staff said the Das Villo approval allows outdoor dining consistent with the business's approved hours (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily) and is subject to three conditions in the approval letter. Das Villo was described in staff comments as a combined bike shop, repair service and café; the applicants indicated current food offerings are coffee, pastries and small baked goods and that alcohol service is a possible future change.
On the Forgotten Harvest item, staff confirmed the "RV shelter" name refers to a cover for the organization's delivery truck bay rather than a shelter for recreational vehicles; the proposed structure is 25 feet wide by 51 feet long by 14 feet high and its approval is subject to seven conditions listed in the approval letter.
Commissioners and the mayor asked clarifying questions about Das Villo's location (front of shop), business model (AI-assisted bike fitting and ordering), and the intended use of the Forgotten Harvest shelter; staff provided the clarifications and told commissioners no commission action was required for these administrative approvals.
