Beaver Crossing sets pool opening for May 26, orders new diving board and designates liaison

The Beaver Crossing Village Board confirmed plans for the 2025 pool season during its April 9 meeting, approving a schedule of lessons, staffing arrangements and several small repairs.
Pool Manager Lyn Schernikau told trustees the pool’s opening is scheduled for May 26, weather permitting, and that swim lessons will run June 16–20 and June 23–27, with private lessons to be offered before normal hours. "Open dates and times need to be set for Beaver Days and during the 4th of July," Schernikau said as she discussed staffing and scheduling; Trustee Ray Foreman will serve as the board liaison for the season.
Trustees noted maintenance items: one diving board has been ordered with an ETA of about four to six weeks and the other board was refinished by Trustee Leif; the baby pool has a leak requiring detection. The board approved purchase of a Verizon track phone at Walmart for pool communications (motion by Jere Leif, seconded by Kaely Eberspacher; 5-0). Schernikau said the village may need to contact assistant managers from nearby pools when she is out of town.
The board recorded no objections to the pool plan during the meeting and approved related small purchases and repairs by unanimous vote. Trustees asked staff to confirm hours for special events and ensure lifeguard classes already scheduled proceed before opening.
