"We're looking at March 4th, the presentation of the recommended budget," the superintendent said, outlining plans to align workshops with administrators' existing schedules so high school, middle school and adult education presentations occur first, followed by elementary and special education in early April. The superintendent said federal grants, technology and other extra cost centers would be addressed at a second April meeting and that an extra April 29 meeting is included as needed.
Board members asked logistical questions about the wellness event and timing between the district meeting and referendum. The superintendent clarified that the wellness session is planned for April 1 and reminded listeners that budget workshops are open to the public "not for comment, but you may come and sit in on the budget workshops," so residents can observe budget deliberations.
No formal vote was taken on the timeline during the meeting; the board said final dates will be confirmed with town officials at an upcoming January 14 meeting. The superintendent and staff will publish the finalized schedule after that coordination.
